Clinical Trials

Each trial is classified by what it asks of the liquid-biopsy test. That is the trial type used on this page.

How long, and how many people

Medians by trial type. Duration runs from the start date to an actual primary-completion date, so it covers finished trials only; enrollment is the actual count, so it covers trials that have finished enrolling. Under test trials and treatment selection trials these describe the liquid-biopsy work; under eligibility selection and correlative study trials they describe the drug trial the test sits inside. Interventional includes the registry’s rare expanded access records.

Trials registered per year

Three other clocks

A registration is one date in a trial’s life. These views use the others. They are counts, not links: Explore has no filter for these dates.

Where the trials run

By US state

Who sponsors them

The lead sponsor’s type as the registry classifies it. “Academic, hospital and other” is the registry’s own catch-all for everything that is not industry or government. Each bar opens its trials in Explore.

What the tests measure, by trial type

Analytes named in each trial’s registration. A trial with several analytes counts under each, so bars need not sum to the trial type’s total. Each bar opens its trials in Explore.

Study type and phase

Phases belong to interventional trials. Under correlative study trials the phase is the host drug trial’s. Each cell opens its trials in Explore.
